Deliberative Sessions

What are they?

At this meeting all properly submitted Warrant Articles, including the annual operating budget, are presented, discussed and can be amended, with certain limitations, prior to placement on the March ballot.

The only time Articles can be amended is at the Deliberative Sessions, with the amendments being approved or rejected by majority vote of the registered voters in attendance.

Why are they important?

Actions taken at the deliberative sessions can affect school budgets and warrant articles. Residents can make motions to take money out of the school budgets or add money to existing warrant articles. The decisions made at deliberative sessions WILL impact what residents vote on in March.

What can you do?

As a VOTER you can participate in the proceedings. You can speak to an issue, ask questions, and most importantly, vote on ALL motions.

As a NON-RESIDENT, you cannot participate in the proceedings, but your presence is still important. Your presence sends a potent message! Support your colleagues and your profession from any unwarranted attacks.
